Well, here we are a week into a new month. This one, June, will be different. Thank God we have made it triumphantly through the last few months. Our country is opening up again and the church is reuniting in victory to celebrate services throughout the country. Prayers have been answered. Praise the Lord!
It is a good time to pray asking the Lord how best we can progress in this new season. The Law of Parallel truth is operative in the land today.
There is a parallel spiritual truth that is on track with a natural truth.
We have embarked on the re-opening of America as directed by our President and other leaders in our country and in our state.
Churches for the most part have been closed. Most Pastors had resorted to internet technology to continue to minister to their congregations. Many innovative methods have appeared to carry us through the time of crisis. We preached from church to the internet audience as did others, some Pastors preached from their homes, a few had drive up church. We know of one where the praise team ministered from their home, while the Pastor was at his home.
While we do not have to abandon some of the outreach methods we have incorporated to stay operative, such as streaming live and YouTube, we must return to the spiritual model given us in scripture.
Safety is to be considered but we are to strongly trust Our Savior and the Precious Holy Spirit to keep as we enter into Divine Presence in our services. We must not fear.
We still must enter into his courts with praise and shout unto God with a voice of triumph.
The Bible tells us in Hebrews 10:25:
Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.
The assembling of ourselves together is church. Corporate worship, prayer, and fellowship is essential.
Jesus shows up anywhere His name is called upon, but he placed His special imprimatur on folks being together in His name.
In Matthew 18:19,20 Jesus declared:
19 Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven.
20 For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.
The church is where we best gather together in His name. Our home has many purposes, the church only one. When I speak of the church I refer to the place dedicated to that purpose. A home can be a church when it is the agreed upon place for the gathering of the saints.
Otherwise let us move toward the house of God away from the everyday trappings and enter into the unique place, with other believers, and begin to pray, and worship, and preach. It is a different atmosphere, and a different environment. Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.
There we have gathered together in His name. There we exhort each other. There we agree in prayer, on earth, and cause the Father in heaven to move on our behalf. There Jesus shows up.
