An old Gospel song says:
In times like these you need a Savior,
In times like these you need an anchor;
Be very sure, be very sure,
Your anchor holds and grips the Solid Rock!
This Rock is Jesus, Yes He's the One,
This Rock is Jesus, the only One;
Be very sure, be very sure,
Your anchor holds and grips the Solid Rock!
In times like these you need the Bible,
In times like these, O be not idle;
Be very sure, be very sure,
Your anchor holds and grips the Solid Rock!
In times like these I have a Savior,
In times like these I have an anchor;
I'm very sure, I'm very sure
My anchor holds and grips the Solid Rock!
Hebrews 6:19 confirms the song:
19 Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and which entereth into that within the veil;
20 Whither the forerunner is for us entered, even Jesus, made an high priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.
Number 1. The Savior is Jesus. Do not rely on anything or anyone else to bring you into salvation. Certainly do not depend on your good works. Your some kind of religious belief will not save you. Some affiliation with a church, a preacher, or someone who is praying for you cannot bring you into salvation. Hoping you make it to heaven or that your good outweighs the bad is erroneous theory.
Number 2. You must be born again. You must acknowledge you are a SINNER. You must ask Jesus Christ to come into your life and forgive you of your sins and make you a new creation in HIM.
Number 3. You must place your faith in Jesus alone and what he has done on your behalf at the Cross of Calvary. You must believe he died and rose from the dead on the third day.
Number 4. You must make a verbal, out loud confession and a declaration of these things. You can do that alone but it is most assuring when you pray with someone and then that person seals that with you and God as a witness to your faith.
Then you shall be saved.
Next, as soon as possible be immersed in water. That is be baptized. Align yourself with a true church and begin to serve the Lord faithfully. Make every effort to participate with the Holy Spirit as He begins to separate you from worldly pursuits.
The half cocked religious foolishness you have been living in will not save you. You must have a time when you have accepted Jesus and followed the above so that you know you are saved,
This Rock is Jesus, Yes He's the One,
This Rock is Jesus, the only One;
Be very sure, be very sure,
Your anchor holds and grips the Solid Rock!
Do not die without heeding this counsel. It is truth.
