Blessings of God

By Pastor Shirley Flores

I often pray for God's blessing, his favor, and a special anointing in certain areas of my life. I used to pray a lot harder for blessings and favor than anything else in my life. Was this wrong? No, not really. What I realized is, I do not need to pray so hard for these things. All of these are automatically added to those who believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. Blessings flow. Anointing is there, favor is there. It may not be noticeable, but they are there.

Have you ever taken a shower when the water pressure was low? You will still be able to take a shower, but if the problem is not fixed it will only frustrate you every time you turn the water on. One of the causes of low water pressure is the main water valve is not fully opened. I believe this to be true with blessings in the life of the believer.

When the lines of communication with God are not fully opened (prayer, reading the Bible, going to church, spending quality time with Jesus, tithing etc.) the blessings will still come, but they will not be as abundant or as noticeable as they should be.

To be more aware of these wonderful gifts from God we need to be fully and completely open. God will bless us because it’s a part of who he is. He is our heavenly Father who loves to give good gifts to his children; but if we don't take the time to get to know him we will miss the richness of his blessing every time. -SAF-
