What we say can either bring praise or consequence. We know that punishment will follow if we say things out of anger or spite. We have already been trained to not say everything that comes to mind.
Then there are things we say that hinder us and we do not even know it. I know people who will not say anything positive about a situation because they do not want to “jinx” it. Their logic is, if the outcome is positive, then they will be surprised. If the outcome is negative, then it is what they expected. It is extremely rare that anything comes out positive for them. They have no hope. They have no confidence. But, they have faith. They have faith that they will fail. They have faith that things will not happen for them. How can you say that they have faith?
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Hebrews 11:1
We want to use this verse in a positive light and take it to mean everything will work out all right in the end… but that is not what the Bible verse says. If what you hope for is uncertain, the unseen evidence will be uncertainty. If what you hope for is solid and good, the unseen evidence will be solid and good.
Faith can work with you, or it can work against you. You are the one who determines which way faith will work for you. -SAF-
