We moved in June 2014 with only a desk chair, our clothes, and the sound system for our ministry. Why? April 2013 the Lord took my husband and I on a “Abrahamic Journey.” Our lease ended so we left that apartment, put all of our things in storage and took off. We never knew where we were going or how long we were going to be there.
In April 2014, we felt strongly that we needed to lighten our load in our storage unit. We ended up donating everything except a few things to the Goodwill. So, yes, two months before we moved into our apartment the Lord prompted us to give our stuff away.
The day we moved in, my husband’s sister and her husband bought us a microwave, coffee maker, and dishes. Three days later we went to a thrift store around the corner to look around. We met the owners and before we left, they gave us a bed, two lamps, two end tables, three chairs, and a coffee table. Later in the week I was talking to a coworker and she said to stop by her house because she had a dining table and chairs we could have. Every time we needed something, God supplied it.
God wanted us to believe that He was still providing for his people. We know that God provides. We know that He is faithful. A lot of times we do not believe that God will provide, or that he will be faithful in this particular situation. After seeing what God did for us, I truly believe that God cares about every area of our lives. I believe God provides even more than I did before. God is truly faithful. God is Good. -SAF-
