40 And there came a leper to him, beseeching him, and kneeling down to him, and saying unto him, If thou wilt, thou canst make me clean.
41 And Jesus, moved with compassion, put forth his hand, and touched him, and saith unto him, I will; be thou clean.
42 And as soon as he had spoken, immediately the leprosy departed from him, and he was cleansed.
Mark 1
Can means to be able to; have the ability, power, or skill to.
Will means to decide, bring about by an act; determination to achieve; want to or to choose.
The passage above makes it clear that Jesus had the ability to heal and he made the declaration “I will” and then he healed the man with leprosy.
The Lord showed me that he is God that will.
He declared himself as “I AM.” God never labeled himself as a God who can. Jehovah Jireh- God will provide, not God can provide. Jehovah Rapha- God that heals, not God that can heal. Jehovah Shalom- the Lord is peace, not the Lord can give peace.
We, as believers, have to change our prayers and our thought patterns from “God, I know you can” to “God, I know you will.” -SAF-
