Have you ever played Hide and Seek with a toddler? When it is their turn to hide, you count and then announce, "ready or not, here I come.” As you set off to look for them, they jump out and say, "Here I am!" It is super cute.
Listening to some believers it seems as if God is hard to find or that he is hiding. God is not hiding. If God is hiding, that means he left you. Genesis 28:15, Deuteronomy 4:31, Deuteronomy 31:6, I Kings 8:57, Hebrews 13:5 are just a few scripture verses in the Bible where God says that He will never leave us or forsake us. He cannot go against His word.
Looking for God (or seeking God) is like playing Hide and Seek with a toddler. You set yourself up for a long, drawn out session of searching and waiting ... but He jumps out and says, "Here I am!"
James 4:8a says, "Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you.” Jeremiah 33:3, “Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and will show thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not." If you call out to God, he will answer you. He will respond. He is never out of reach.
Go ahead and reach out to Him. Allow Him to show you how much you mean to Him. -SAF-
