“Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus, By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh; And having an high priest over the house of God; Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;) And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.” Hebrews 10:19-25
The author of Hebrews gives us steps in how to persevere:
1. Enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus. 2. Let us draw near to God with a true heart in full assurance of faith. 3. Hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering.
In order to successfully persevere in anything, you must be saved. The ONLY way to be saved is to accept Jesus Christ as your personal savior. When you do that, you are able to enter the most holy place by the blood of Jesus Christ. After you accept Jesus Christ, you need to stay close to God. As you stay close to God, He will stay close to you. The last step is to hold on to your faith in Jesus no matter what comes your way.
A good way to help in keeping these steps is going to church. As you meet with other believers you will be encouraged by others and you will be an encouragement by sharing your experiences as well. -SAF
