Proverbs 14:1,“Every wise woman buildeth her house: but the foolish plucketh it down with her hands.”

I can’t help but think of my mother. My mother was a good woman. She tried her very best in everything she did. She loved the Lord with her whole heart. She loved and supported her kids in everything they did. She was a great employee and worked her way up to management in a short time.

About two years before she went to be with the Lord, I noticed a subtle change in my mom that made a huge impact. My parents didn’t have a “bad marriage.” Everyone knew they loved each other, and they loved their kids.

My mom started putting her relationship with my dad before anything else. She submitted to my dad instead of taking the lead on things. She spent more and more time with my dad and less time at work. It was the little things that made me take notice.

The change in my mother is forever etched in my mind. She was so happy and carefree those last two years. Her attitude changed and her countenance was different because she decided to rearrange her priorities.
