Practice What You Preach

I love being a pastor and preaching the Word of God. It’s exciting to share revelation of the scripture with people. Even in jobs you love, there are some things you love less than others. For me, it is actually living out some of the great revelations.

Wednesday evening I stated there were things that we needed to deal with as we approach our three year anniversary as a church. I knew the things I needed to do so I began to start this work in progress a few weeks ago. I began to work on those things and I thought I was doing pretty good.

The next day (Thursday) I received some counsel that I was not doing as well as I thought I was. Some items were brought to my attention and although I did not take them very well at first, I began to see how God was at work in my life through what was being said.

What I realized, now more than ever, is just because you are the one delivering the message, does not mean you are exempt from it. The message goes out and ALL are responsible for what is being said. If I declare the blessings that come out of my mouth to the congregation, I need to receive the rebukes and harsh words as well. -SAF-
