In our Thursday night Bible Studies we are studying divine healing. We studied the two reasons for failure when ministering healing: unbelief and the traditions of men.
Unbelief is HUGE. It was unbelief that kept the descendants of Abraham from entering the promised land for 40 years (Numbers 14:30). It was unbelief that kept the disciples from casting out the unclean spirit out of the demon possessed boy (Matthew 17:20).
It was unbelief that kept Jesus from performing many miracles in his hometown.
Matthew 13:58, And he did not many mighty works there because of their unbelief.
Mark 6:5, And he could there do no mighty work, save that he laid his hands upon a few sick folk, and healed them.
Everyone that came to Jesus was healed, even people in his hometown. Those who were not healed did not come because of unbelief. Either the loved ones of those sick did not believe that Jesus could heal them or the ones sick did not believe. Regardless of which one it was, they did not show up and they were not healed.
Jesus healed. He healed those he saw in the distance. He healed those that touched him. He healed those who were brought to him. He healed everyone who asked him to. -SAF-
